Job Description

Being a Sr. OpenStack Engineer at Opticca, your responsibilities include:

Providing assistance troubleshooting Client's OpenStack environment

Tuning and debugging Openstack as traffic is added to environment

Installing additional Openstack nodes for increased traffic

Testing the environment and lab installations of OpenStack Platform

Providing support for upgrade and planning overview to future versions of OpenStack Platform(Openstack 10->16 upgrades)

Qualifications/Expectations

• 3 - 4 years of OpenStack and Cloud experience
• 3+ Years’ technical experience installing, configuring and administering RHEL 5.x, 6.x and 7.x in both physical and virtual environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, vROPs, Update Manager, VSAN, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of x86 compute hardware from HPE, Dell and/or Cisco.
• Understanding of system automation concepts and techniques.
• Experience working with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible etc.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux shell and scripting
• Good knowledge of EMC (VMAX, VPLEX, XtremIO), NetApp and HPE (3PAR) storage technologies.
• Good knowledge of current and emerging private (e.g. vRealize Automation, Openstack) and public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure) technologies.
• Able to communicate goals in support of the business' mission.
• Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
• Ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team.

Nice to have

• Certifications in OpenStack are a huge PLUS
• Experience with TripleO for deployments and with networking technologies like DPDK, OVN, OVS, OVS HW-Offload
